WHAT TIME IS THE WEDDING?
We request that all guests make plans to arrive and be seated no later than 5:45pm. In Greece, the local priest presides over multiple weddings in the same evening, so the start-time is strict and will not be delayed for any reason. Please be sure to check the distance from your accommodations to the venue to ensure a timely arrival.
WHEN AND HOW DO I RSVP?
For ease and convenience of our guests, all RSVPs are digital only. Kindly reply using the RSVP tab on this website, where you can enter your name to access your party's digital RSVP (all members of the household will be listed together). Please note that the guest list was uploaded in English, so you will need to enter your English name rather than your Greek name. RSVP details will also be provided with your printed invitation.
What is the dress code?
Our wedding will be a formal affair, so we kindly invite our guests to show up in elegant and dressy attire. For women, this can consist of evening dresses, a chic pantsuit, or upscale cocktail attire. For men, a suit is recommended. As a gentle reminder, we kindly ask female guests to refrain from wearing white, as the bride will be in this color on the big day, but no other color restrictions need consideration. We can't wait to see you in your best-dressed looks!
WHAT IS THE PARKING SITUATION?
If you plan to drive to Pyrgos Petreza, you will be met at the entrance to the venue by the on-site valet team, who will relocate your car to a safe and locked on-site parking area. There is no charge to guests for the valet service.
What can I expect from the weather?
Since both the ceremony and reception are completely outdoors, it will be advisable to regard the weather. In September, the average temperature in Athens, Greece is 24°C or 75.2°F. The average high temperature on the hottest days is 29°C or 84.2°F. At night, the temperature is around 19°C or 66.2°F for most of the month. As we approach the wedding date, you can check the Spata, Attica weather forecast for specific details, but in general we predict pleasant temperatures and sunny conditions.
WHAT IF IT RAINS?
In the unlikely event of rain, the ceremony will take place inside the chapel rather than outside in front of it. Viewing would be limited due to capacity constraints, while overflow would be directed to the property’s reception hall, where an indoor reception would follow.
Am I permitted to bring a guest?
Due to the limited capacity of our venue, we are unable to accommodate requests for guests who have not been formally invited on the printed wedding invitation. If you have a plus one, their name will be included with your RSVP. We appreciate your understanding as we aim to keep our wedding intimate.
AM I PERMITTED TO BRING MY CHILDREN?
Children are welcome to attend our wedding, as indicated on your printed invitation. Children under the age of 12 will be offered a kid's meal. We also understand if some parents may opt for an adults-only evening. Please indicate either way with your RSVP.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM THE FOOD AND BEVERAGE?
Immediately following the ceremony, Prosecco and light bites will be served on the terrace for cocktail hour. As dinner begins, there will be a full open bar with beer, wine, liquor, and "his and hers" cocktail suggestions. The meal will be a full buffet with classic Greek favorites, including options for vegetarians and carnivores alike. If you have a severe food allergy, there will be an open field for you to type this information in as you RSVP.
WHAT SHOULD I KNOW ABOUT ATTENDING A GREEK WEDDING?
If this is your first time attending a wedding in Greece, you may be wondering what to expect. In general, the Greeks tend to keep the party going until the early hours of the morning, so expect the festivities to last longer and later than a typical venue in the United States which may have a curfew. You may see customs, such as rice-throwing and traditional Greek dancing, that you've heard about or witnessed before, as well as some stereotypes such as the smashing of plates which will not occur and are prohibited by venues due to safety concerns. Our ceremony will be an Orthodox Christian wedding with elements in both English and Greek.
